This is a three year series, designed originally by Dr. George Sugai, that is now being used worldwide. PBIS has proven to be a very successful research and evidenced based systems approach to improved positive behavior.
Teams of six to eight members from multiple schools or multiple districts will participate in the trainings that include: Year One-six full days training with two half days of coaches training, Year Two-three full days with two half days of coaches training, and Year Three-three full days with two half days of coaches training.
As with school climate, academic performance needs to be on a multi-tiered system that will reach all students’ educational needs and drive improvement and success. SRBI teams for math and/or language arts will meet several times a year to receive support in Using Scientific Research-Based Interventions to improve outcomes for all students.
Teams will review universal screenings, common formative assessments, and benchmarks to determine cut marks for additional services in tier two and three. They will understand the standards for judging high-quality progress monitoring and practice using evidence-based models of progress monitoring to improve instruction. They will also investigate teaching resources that will be specific to the tiered intervention and develop a criteria for the exiting process.
Identify principles of behavior Recognize the ABC’s of behavior (antecedent, behavior, consequence) Understand the functions of behavior Participants will know and understand the Basic Principles of Behavior. They will understand how this supports actions taken for problem behaviors in the school and classroom settings and increase the likelihood that students will behave appropriately.
Enhance understanding and discover ways of escalating and de-escalating behavior sequences Participants will identify how to intervene early in an escalation. They will understand the environmental factors that can be manipulated and identify replacement behaviors that can be taught (& serve same function as problem)
Audience: This can be offered as a full day training for multiple teams, 2 half days for individual schools or districts
The School-Wide Information System Suite (SWIS Suite)
SWIS is the only decision-making system to provide the level of detail required for every tier of a multi-tiered system of school-wide behavior support. Participants will understand how to use SWIS in their schools to fully support their efforts to improve their data collection and decision-making process. reports to drill down problems with precision.
Audience: Teams of 3-4 individuals from a school for ½ day training with follow up training for Tier 2 (Check in/Check out) and Tier 3 (Individual Support Information System) as needed.
Prepare your district for the NextGen Science standards. These workshops are designed to help your teachers navigate the new standards and put them into practice.
Custom designed workshops to help your teachers understand and implement the CCSS as integrated lessons.
